The product

Tailor every application. Keep your voice.

Tailoring my own resume to a job. Each change shows what it replaces and why, and the preview updates as I accept them.

The problem

Generic AI rewrites lose you.

Every job wants a slightly different resume, so applying to many means rewriting the same document again and again. AI tools can do it in seconds, but they rewrite everything, flatten your voice and happily add skills you don't have.

I wanted the speed without the risk: suggestions you check one line at a time, built only from what you have actually done.

How it works

From resume to tailored, in four steps.

  1. Add your resume

Upload your Word file or PDF. It is copied in word for word: the AI only says which lines are bullets, and the server copies the text.

  2. Grab a job

Paste the job description, or click the Chrome extension on any job posting and ApplyWise opens with the role, company and description filled in.

  3. Approve each change

Every suggested edit shows a word diff and the reason. Accept, reject, edit or retry it. Skills you don't have are flagged as gaps, never added.

  4. Download and apply

Export to Word in your own design, or PDF, then draft answers to the application questions and a cover letter in the same tab.

Every change is shown word by word, with the gaps the job asks for that your resume doesn't cover.

Design decisions

Honest, private and cheap to run.

Nothing inventedThe AI may only reword bullets that are already on your resume. It never adds or reorders sections, and answers it can't know are left as [placeholders] for you to fill in.
Your Word file, keptAccepted edits are written back into your original .docx, so your layout and fonts survive. Per-job changes never touch your master resume.
Credits that can't be overspentEach AI action costs credits, charged in one locked database step so parallel requests can't overspend. Failed calls are refunded, and an hourly limit and daily cap protect the bill.
Private by defaultGoogle sign-in only. The browser never gets a database key: every query runs on the server and is filtered to the signed-in user, and requests from other sites are rejected.
Extension fixes without updatesWhere to find the job on each site is served live as data, so when a job board redesigns, a deploy fixes it without a new extension version.

More than the resume

Everything one application asks for.

ApplyWise features: answers for application questions within a word limit, and a check of what the job wants against your resume
Application answers and a skills check, side by side.

Paste a form's questions and get drafts within the word limit, written from your resume and an "About me" profile you fill in once. A guided setup helps new users write that profile, and an AI helper turns messy notes into clear sentences without adding facts.

Cover letters, an application tracker and saved jobs sit in the same place, so every application has one home.
